The Garden Kitchen 02/16/2010
I'm all for outdoorsy stuff, and I've become accustomed to the constraints of having outdoor activities. For example, though grilling and a minor amount of cooking can be accomplished outdoor, I've never quite gotten my head around outdoor cooking being any more than just a batch of simple things prepared on the grill. So when I encountered this outdoor kitchen, I was quite intrigued. I said, Ok, it's got a grill, no big deal, even though the grill was king sized and flanked by gas powered cooktops. As a matter of fact, the cooktop to the right of the grill was one that was specially made for woks. High BTU, massive flames, the works. The darn thing even had an island. I know most homes do not have an island in their kitchens. This house had an outdoor kitchen folks, and it was big enough to host an island right there in the middle of it all. Wow. So let's see. The outdoor kitchen had a grill that would make even George Foreman envious, it had a wok so that Yan can cook, a regular stove stop with red knobs (Wolf, anyone?) an island, cabinetry, and a couple of surprising jewels: a wine cooler and an outdoor refrigerator! This is no ordinary cooling system people; this one is stainless steel, mounted undercounter, and had a frosted glass door. Ok, it's time to consider a backyard renovation. I want an outdoor kitchen too, and equally important, I want, nay, I need those outdoor refrigerators too! |
